Fort Lauderdale, FL – While Gurkha is known throughout the world for making super premium luxury cigars, CEO Kaizad Hansotia knows that change is key in the cigar business and it’s critical for growth to develop new brands. It has an Eduadorian oscuro wrapper and a Nicaraguan binder and 12-year-old fillers from Condega, Esteli, and Jalapa. It’s medium bodied and comes in two three sizes; Krakean 6 x 60, Hedonism 6x58, and Solara 5 x 58. It is specifically blended to deliver the richest characteristics and complexity that comes from Nicaraguan aged tobaccos. It retails for $8.99 - $10.99 a cigar.

“When developing the new Cellar Reserve Platinum, our idea as a company was to provide a rich and complex smoking experience for the consumer,” says Juan Lopez, National Sales Director and in-house blender at Gurkha Cigar Group. “Due to the enormous success we’ve had with the Cellar Reserve lines made in the Dominican Republic, we felt that it only makes sense to expand the flavor profiles by adding aged Nicaraguan tobaccos.”

The Heritage has a rosado Ecuadorian habano wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and Dominican, Pensylvanian and Nicaraguan fillers. It’s medium bodied and comes in three sizes: Robusto, Toro and XO. It’s hand rolled in Nicaragua and comes in a rare 35-count box. This cigar is was blended by our blending team at American Caribbean Cigars in Nicaragua, with the input of our in-house blender and National Sales Director, Juan Lopez, and the blessings of Kaizad Hansotia. This flavorful blend has rich coffee and dark chocolate tones with a subtle and well-balanced spice present throughout. It retails for $7.99 - $9.99 a cigar. “We’re proud to release a fantastic medium to full-bodied blend in the Heritage Cigar. A true aficionado will not be disappointed with the wonderful collaboration of flavors in this cigar,” says Kaizad Hansotia, President and CEO of Gurkha Cigars.

The Cask Blend is a signature Gurkha cigar. Its wrapper, binder and filler are highly guarded proprietary secrets. It’s medium bodied and hand rolled in the Dominican Republic. It comes in two sizes;: 5 x 58 and 6 x 58. It comes in a striking new wooden 200-count box styled like only the artisans at Gurkha know how to do. The Cask Blend’s unique flavor notes are complemented by the natural richness of the proprietary wrapper, binder and fillers. It’s a rich and complex cigar like the Gurkha brand itself. It boasts notes of sweet spice and rich cedar. It retails for $7.99 to $8.99 a cigar.

According to Hansotia, “When developing new brands, I always remind myself of the military themes that coincide with the Gurkha soldiers, but more importantly, I think of the consumer and what drives their palate. I follow the market and listen to what consumers are asking for. Even when I travel, I stop into cigar shops around the world and ask people for their input in a cigar profile.

“My goal is to make a cigar for every palate without sacrificing quality. That is paramount. We want every consumer satisfied with what he or she finds when smoking a Gurkha cigar. Having the same design team for the past two decades helps us maintain consistency and bring our cigars to the next level. But there is always a metamorphosis in the cigar aficionados offering room to grow.”

Today Gurkha produces eight million cigars per year. They are sold in more than 200 50 countries worldwide. Each Gurkha cigar provides a luxurious experience different from the last. Housed in a beautifully appointed facility in South Florida, Gurkha has core brands, limited edition brands and an entire line of innovative and affordable brands through its East India Trading Company line.

Steeped in legend and rich in history, Gurkha Cigars were named after Nepalese warriors whose bravery impressed the British soldiers. The company was purchased by Kaizad Hansotia in 1989 for all of $149 with the intention of giving the cigars as unique gifts to customers of his family’s watch business. The cigars were such a big hit that Hansotia realized he was on to something. He began to expand the line into what it has become today, one of the most famous brands of luxury cigars in the world.

Amazing Camacho Facebook Post

I was truly humbled to see this  Camacho Cigars  Facebook post yesterday. Thank you!

Eight O'Clock Coffee The Original

This sample of Eight O'Clock Coffee , "The Original", came right off the supermarket shelf the other day. It's a medium roast blend that included a large volume of broken and partial beans. Actually, I was surprised by the volume of broken beans as I poured each sample into the grinder. When the bag was opened, to the nose there were rich aromas of toast and coffee, while the pour-over aromas were a mix of cocoa and warm bread. I brewed and sampled four cups of The Original to be sure of my tasting notes. On the Eight O'Clock web site they list this coffee as "sweet, fruity and well balanced." Like most other coffee reviews that's not exactly what I found. In my samples there were semi-sweet flavors of toast, nuts and earth, with a hint of cocoa as the coffee cooled. I found the coffee clean and well balanced with a medium bodied, slightly dry mouth feel. Overall, The Original, from Eight O'Clock coffee brewed a flavorful rewarding cup

Tryst No. 2 Robusto Brandy E-Cigar

Featuring e-juice made in the USA, these  Tryst  e-cigars are a pretty sweet deal. The No. 2 Robusto Brandy is another great example of a cigarette alternative that give me cigar-like satisfaction indoors or wherever I can't smoke a real cigar. Like the last Tryst reviews, I've been puffing on the No. 2 the past two days while writing. Other than its brandy flavor, this Brandy model is just like the the other No. 2's. The tapered head makes it easy to hold hands-free between your teeth, the wrapper is durable showing no signs of wear, it produces a large volume of vapor and the brandy flavored e-juice tastes fantastic.  You probably know I'm not much of a flavored cigar person, but these American made e-juices from Tryst have fantastic flavor, this brandy is really close to tasting like brandy. I've tried other flavored e-cigarette products in the past and the flavors don't compare at all to the Tryst e-cigar flavors. Add together the great taste, the
