Rocky Patel Sun Grown Toro
It's a really nice looking cigar starting with the "Hot-Rod-Red" and gold dual bands around the Claro colored wrapper. The wrapper it self is seamless and practically vein free, plus it has a triple cap.
From the foot, there is a hint of fermented tobacco and the free cold draw is fruity with a bit of spice mixed in. From the burning cigar the first few mild bodied puffs are a mix of rich tobacco and brown sugar, plus the cigar creates huge plumes of smoke. As the cigar burns on it quickly develops and oily sheen to the wrapper just above the burn and a bunch of other flavors enter the mix. There are flavors of earth, black pepper, nuts, caramel, cream, brown sugar, oak, leather and wheat with a long caramel and cream finish.
Overall this Rocky Patel Sun Grown Toro was a nice cigar, it finished in the medium body range, it had a complex flavor mix, razor sharp burn, top notch construction, an oily wrapper and a 70 minute burn time. It's definitely a cigar worth smoking again.
