Davidoff announces new Flagship Store in Buckhead Atlanta to open in Spring 2015

Basel/Buckhead, Atlanta, October 2014. Buckhead, the affluent uptown district of Atlanta, Georgia, will welcome a Davidoff Flagship Store developed in accordance with the new globally standardized design and concept of “Davidoff of Geneva – since 1911” at the Buckhead Atlanta shopping district, slated to open in Spring 2015. Davidoff partnered with Oliver McMillan to integrate Davidoff’s new retail concept into the luxury retail and high end cuisine, shopping and dining district in the heart of Buckhead.

The new Flagship Store will feature a luxurious environment and guest experience covering nearly 3,000 square feet, split into five carefully designed areas. Throughout each space, the interior and architectural design will be inspired by the traditions of the Dominican Republic, where much of Davidoff’s production and many of its employees are based.

“We are delighted to open up a new ‘Davidoff of Geneva — since 1911’ Flagship Store in Buckhead,” says Jim Young, President of Davidoff of Geneva North America. “This new store will feature a sizeable walk-in humidor, a beautiful retail space where we will display a selection of the finest accessories, and an inviting 1,000+ sq ft cigar lounge, all brought together through our new global retail design concept. It also includes a VIP member’s lounge and a conference room for clients wishing to conduct meetings in a premium cigar environment”.
The Davidoff Flagship Store location will be complemented by 275,000 sq ft of luxury and best in class retail, luxury residential, fine dining and entertainment in the newly opened Oliver McMillan luxury-shopping destination. Spanning six city blocks in historic Buckhead Village, Buckhead Atlanta is designed to fit seamlessly into the existing area with pedestrian friendly streets.

A Century of Davidoff
Henri Davidoff, who emigrated from Kiev to Switzerland at a time of political unrest, opened
his first store in Geneva in 1911, laying the foundations for today’s worldwide network of 65
Davidoff Flagship Stores. Henri’s son, Zino Davidoff, learned the trade from the ground up.
He resided for several years in Central and South America to deepen his knowledge. In
1930, he returned to Switzerland and thereafter successfully managed the business over four
decades. Zino Davidoff transferred the family business to the Oettinger Group in 1970.
Davidoff appeals to connoisseurs all over the world who seek to embrace the art of living and
pleasure. The premium brand Davidoff stands for a culture of conscious enjoyment and

Eight O'Clock Coffee The Original

This sample of Eight O'Clock Coffee , "The Original", came right off the supermarket shelf the other day. It's a medium roast blend that included a large volume of broken and partial beans. Actually, I was surprised by the volume of broken beans as I poured each sample into the grinder. When the bag was opened, to the nose there were rich aromas of toast and coffee, while the pour-over aromas were a mix of cocoa and warm bread. I brewed and sampled four cups of The Original to be sure of my tasting notes. On the Eight O'Clock web site they list this coffee as "sweet, fruity and well balanced." Like most other coffee reviews that's not exactly what I found. In my samples there were semi-sweet flavors of toast, nuts and earth, with a hint of cocoa as the coffee cooled. I found the coffee clean and well balanced with a medium bodied, slightly dry mouth feel. Overall, The Original, from Eight O'Clock coffee brewed a flavorful rewarding cup

Tryst No. 2 Robusto Brandy E-Cigar

Featuring e-juice made in the USA, these  Tryst  e-cigars are a pretty sweet deal. The No. 2 Robusto Brandy is another great example of a cigarette alternative that give me cigar-like satisfaction indoors or wherever I can't smoke a real cigar. The tapered head makes it easy to hold hands-free between your teeth, the wrapper is durable showing no signs of wear, it produces a large volume of vapor and the brandy flavored e-juice tastes fantastic.  You probably know I'm not much of a flavored cigar person, but these American made e-juices from Tryst have fantastic flavor, this brandy is really close to tasting like brandy.
