Mac Baren 3 Pipe Ashtray


I've been looking quite some time for a decent pipe ashtray when I stumbled across this one. Since I enjoy, and will be soon reviewing a few blends of Mac Baren pipe tobacco I thought this was a perfect choice.

Mac Baren Ashtray
Once I had this beauty out of the box I was pleased with the size (7" diameter and a touch over 2" in height), and the finish of this ceramic ashtray. The finish was smooth and glossy over the entire surface and did appear large enough to hold three resting pipes at the same time.

After a few days of use it was quick and easy to clean, all it took was a wipe with a damp cloth. The cork knocker is well attached and so far shows no signs of wiggle or looseness and it is large enough to hold three resting pipes at once.

The only negative aspect to the ashtray is the ashtray itself is a bit small and if you are not careful the contents of your pipe can land outside its' boundaries, but that has not really been an issue.

If you are looking for a product of this type, this would be a good bet. It has a great price point, very nice appearance and is quite functional.

I give this ashtray a 9 out of 10.

    Teflon tape on the inside of the female threads if you are re using the fitting. There is a Pink Teflon tape, that used solely for making up connection is natural gas lines. fittings

Eight O'Clock Coffee The Original

This sample of Eight O'Clock Coffee , "The Original", came right off the supermarket shelf the other day. It's a medium roast blend that included a large volume of broken and partial beans. Actually, I was surprised by the volume of broken beans as I poured each sample into the grinder. When the bag was opened, to the nose there were rich aromas of toast and coffee, while the pour-over aromas were a mix of cocoa and warm bread. I brewed and sampled four cups of The Original to be sure of my tasting notes. On the Eight O'Clock web site they list this coffee as "sweet, fruity and well balanced." Like most other coffee reviews that's not exactly what I found. In my samples there were semi-sweet flavors of toast, nuts and earth, with a hint of cocoa as the coffee cooled. I found the coffee clean and well balanced with a medium bodied, slightly dry mouth feel. Overall, The Original, from Eight O'Clock coffee brewed a flavorful rewarding cup

Tryst No. 2 Robusto Brandy E-Cigar

Featuring e-juice made in the USA, these  Tryst  e-cigars are a pretty sweet deal. The No. 2 Robusto Brandy is another great example of a cigarette alternative that give me cigar-like satisfaction indoors or wherever I can't smoke a real cigar.
