Cain F Lancero Tubos by Studio Tobac

I've been walking by a box of these Studio Tobac, Cain F Lancero Tubos in the Cigar Train humidor, watching the supply dwindle for weeks now and finally just picked one up. There's always a higher priority with each visit but finally my thing for tube cigars won. For some reason I've always had a passion for tube cigars and usually pick one up when ever there's a new one to be had. Not only do I hoard cigar bands, I hoard cigar tubes. Perhaps its because most tubes are lined with Spanish cedar which seems to contribute some added spice. The Cain F Lancero Tubos is billed as a high performance cigar for those looking for a bold smoking experience and should be enjoyed on a full stomach. Let's see if these statements hold true...

Let's pass on the construction details for a bit and get right into the flavors on this one. The first few puffs were a pleasant, medium bodied mix of nuts, coffee and toast, but that would soon change. Right around the half inch mark, all hell broke loose. Well, really it wasn't that dramatic, but the strength didn't just build, the Cain F Lancero Tubos jumped right into full body mode. As the cigar burned on, the flavor mix became pretty complex. There were added notes of sugar, oak, espresso, cocoa, peat, cream, raisins, wheat straw, molasses, cherries, earth, rich tobacco, barnyard and sweet black pepper. Wow, that's a lot of different flavors in one cigar. Not only did this cigar contain a ton of flavors, but every draw, the flavor mix had changed a little.

I could probably end this review right there but there are a few details that should be added. Construction of the Cain F Lancero falls into the good range since I thought the cigar was a bit rough looking. The stout, toothy, Nicaraguan Habano wrapper was almost vein free, but the cigar looked rough. It was bumpy and the seams weren't always tight against the body. My thought process was that the loose seams might become a problem as the cigar burned, but that didn't happen, plus the cigar was packed well and there were no overly hard or soft spots along the body.

Testing cold aromas, I found a nutty aroma from the foot and the free cold draw was sweet and spicy with a lingering aftertaste. This Cain F Lancero had a razor sharp burn line and gave me 70 minutes of mainly full bodied smoking gratification.

Overall the Cain F Lancero with it's constantly changing flavor mix was a great cigar. I definitely will be smoking a few more of these from time to time. If you like them full bodied and full of flavor give this cigar a try!
