La Vieja Habana Connecticut Shade Gordito Rico

La Vieja Habana Connecticut Shade Gordito Rico Cigar
After first checking the foot aromas I knew this La Vieja Habana Connecticut Shade Gordito Rico was going to be a pretty good budget stick. But after reading about the cigar on NeptuneCigar.com I found out why. This mixed filler cigar is partially created with trimmings from Drew Estate's premium brands. Makes sense to me.

This is a nice stick. It's covered with a good looking seamless Claro colored Connecticut wrapper that's oily and contains only fairly fine veins. From the cold foot there is bold aroma of sweet fermented tobacco. Once the triple cap was clipped the free draw again tasted of sweet fermented tobacco.

After toasting the foot and lighting this bad boy up there again were notes of sweet fermented tobacco, plus some toast, burning grass, sugar, leather and barnyard. It did have a minor burn problem canoeing up on side, but never bad enough that it needed a correction.

The cigar finished it's fifty-five minute burn (it was packed a bit spongy), with a flavor mix of caramel, oak and mild black pepper.

Overall this was a pretty good budget cigar and you can find these La Vieja Habana Connecticut Shade Gordito Ricos at NeptuneCigar.com in a box of 16 for only $53.95. That's a deal!
